Recreation is important to the health of children, youth,
and adults. Children and youth benefit most from activities that they
enjoy that stimulate the mind and body. Including recreation in concert
with school, home, and community activities helps young people learn how
to balance their lives in ways that optimize physical and mental health
as adults.
