New Web Features Added to www.nineandahalfminutes.org
CDC has added new web tools and content to the Nine and Half Minutes Web site so that visitors can share information and show support for HIV prevention through personal websites or social networking pages. Please support these efforts and join us in putting HIV/AIDS back on the national radar screen! Although HIV/AIDS affects certain populations disproportionately, the epidemic is an issue for all of us in the United States. As such, we share a collective responsibility to address it. You can also download and post our testing widget, which allows you to find HIV testing sites in your area, using your zip code. Another new web tool is the "Share your Story" section of the Website. Sharing personal stories is a simple, effective way to increase awareness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the United States and become part of the solution. By sharing your story, you can help to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and promote HIV education, knowledge, and testing. Stories are written in the first person, signed only with your first name, and illustrate true-life issues about the realities of HIV prevention, including topics like risky behavior, condom use, talking to your partner about sex, and getting tested.
