Sources for school health funding and the procedures required to access funds vary from state to state. The state revenue survey collected information about which states appropriate state revenue for school health programs, what programs and the amounts appropriated

Evaluation Resources provides a user-friendly program evaluation primer, step-by-step guidelines and online bibliographies and directories offer a wealth of information and assistance.

Community Level Indicators presents a discussion on ways to monitor the health of your community when you may not have enough resources for extensive surveying, feel that existing data (such as census data) are inadequate, and believe environmental factors influence health and want to find ways of measuring them. Examples given apply to communities. However, a bit of creative thinking could surface many examples of how these concepts could be applied in schools health and where they stand on the issues of school health.

Social Marketing

This social marketing manual contains information on what social marketing is, what it can accomplish, the ethics and challenges of social marketing, a bibliography, and links to other social marketing web sites.

The Children's Picture Book Database at Miami University is a collection of over 3600 abstracts of children's picture books in a computerized database. Books may be sorted by over 850 keywords on a particular topic, concept, or skill. Health education teachers can search the database by health topics, concepts, and skills in order to create thematic, literature-based lessons for elementary school children.
