Title of Presentation: Creating a PE Instructional Materials Rubric that meets the requirements of law and policy.

Description: This session will include a discussion about the important elements of a Physical Education Instructional Materials rubric. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the challenges and implementation of using, creating, and implementing a rubric specific to standards, policy, and law.
Outcomes: State leaders will discuss important elements to create and implement quality robust rubrics that increase student outcomes with instructional materials.
Speaker Credentials: Teri Davis is the Utah Physical Education/ Instructional Materials Specialist. She has been working in both areas for nearly 3 years. Starting in June, she will split to support Physical Education solely. She has been over the review of all curricula (all subjects) for the state of Utah and has navigated the challenges of working with the State Board, legislators, and others to create a template rubric for other subjects to build off of. Teri is focused on streamlining the system so the people who come after her will have an updated system that is easy to navigate. Teri has a Bachelor of Science Physical Education, Master of Education and Certificate in Leadership. She has been in education for over 20 years. Her experience includes: 6 years Washington State and 16 years in Utah in Adapted P.E., Elementary P.E., Secondary P.E., coaching, refereeing, teaching teacher prep courses, and a school principal.
